Ontario’s Political Parties Respond to the Chamber of Commerce
2014 Provincial Election Platform

Ontario Election 2014 - Business Priorities with responses [pdf]MAY 29, 2014—Ontario’s three major political parties have officially responded to the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce’s priorities for the 2014 provincial election.

Initially released two weeks ago in partnership with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Ontario Election 2014: Business Priorities outlines the major challenges inhibiting economic success in the province and provides recommendations to all political parties.

Responses from the political parties to these recommendations can be read in the Chambers’ updated election platform, Ontario Election 2014: Business Priorities UPDATED.

“This provincial election comes at a critical time for the province and the business community and public need to be informed,” says Bob Malcolmson CEO of the Chamber, “the Liberal, PC and NDP candidates from the ridings of Durham, Oshawa and Whitby-Oshawa have agreed to attend a Business Breakfast on Thursday June 5th and to state their platforms and debate the issues of concern to the business community”.

For anyone unable to attend the debate, but wishing to stay informed, the debate will be taped and re-broadcast on Rogers TV seven times before the election beginning Saturday, June 7 @ 6:00 PM; Sunday, June 8 @ 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM; Monday, June 9 @ 1:30 AM and 5:00 PM; Tuesday, June 10 @ 12:00 AM and 1:30 PM.

“The OCC is pleased to see that all parties have made commitments to address some of the key priorities in our platform, including tackling Ontario’s growing debt, addressing electricity prices, and investing in critical infrastructure," stated Allan O'Dette, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.
